ANAHEIM, Calif. — Ducks centre Ryan Getzlaf sprained his left ankle during the second period of Anaheim’s game against the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night.

Nashville resigns Tootoo to two-year extension

NASHVILLE — Right wing Jordin Tootoo has signed a two-year, US$2.5 million extension with the Nashville Predators.

Tootoo will earn $1.15 million next season and $1.35 million in 2011-12.

Hockeycentral notified the NHL offices Thursday night of an incident in the final minute of the Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers game when the light from a green laser pointer was spotted around the eyes of goaltender Jose Theodore.

The incident comes following a similar episode on Jan. 9 when Miikka Kiprusoff had a laser aimed in his face.
