ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Anaheim Ducks have reassigned 19-year-old defenceman Luca Sbisa to his junior team, preventing him from returning to the NHL this season.

The Ducks acquired Sbisa from Philadelphia during the summer in the trade that sent Chris Pronger to the Flyers. Anaheim hoped the Italian-born Sbisa could play a regular role, but he managed no points and a minus-one rating in eight games.

TORONTO — The Toronto Maple Leafs traded goaltender Justin Pogge to the Anaheim Ducks on Monday for a conditional draft pick in 2011.

Pogge had one win in seven appearances and a 4.35 goals-against average with the Leafs last season.

LOS ANGELES — The Anaheim Ducks signed right-wing Mike Brown to a two-year contract extension on Monday, allowing the team to keep a reliable penalty killer.

Terms were not disclosed.

The 23-year-old Brown was acquired at this year’s trade deadline from Vancouver.

His toughness was something the Ducks were looking for after they traded Brad May to the Toronto Maple Leafs in January.
