So far on their swing through the Northeast, the Calgary Flames stopped one skid while failing to end a longer one. They’ll have to bounce back quickly in order to end another stretch of poor play in a city where success has been quite rare.

Calgary closes its trip Saturday night against the Toronto Maple Leafs, who look to continue their nearly 15-year dominance at home over the Flames.

CALGARY — Alberta Health Minister Ron Liepert wants to know if swine flu shots were “inappropriately diverted” to the Calgary Flames while thousands of others were forced to stand in line for hours.

Sutter, the brother of general manager Darryl Sutter, resigned from the New Jersey Devils on June 9th, citing personal and family reasons.

Sutter spent two seasons behind the Devils’ bench, leading the team to the post-season both years, but failed to move on past the first round.

Flames sign Moss to 3-yr extension
CALGARY — Calgary Flames announced Thursday the re-signing forward David Moss to a three-year deal.

In 79 games with Calgary this season, the right-winger has career highs in goals and assists with 20 and 18, respectively.

Moss will make US$1.3 million in each of the next three seasons.

The 27-year old native of Livonia, Mich., made US$575,000 this season with the Flames.

CALGARY — Mike Cammalleri had two goals and Todd Bertuzzi added the shootout game-winner as the Calgary Flames overcame four deficits Wednesday night to come back and win 5-4 over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

After Cammalleri and Jarome Iginla were both stopped by Steve Mason, Bertuzzi put Calgary ahead on a deke as he backhanded the puck over the sprawled Columbus goaltender.

The Calgary Flames have recalled forward Jamie Lundmark from Quad City of the American Hockey League, the club announced Sunday.

It will be Lundmark’s second stint with the big club this season, after registering two assists in three games earlier this year.

In 35 games with the Quad City this season, Lundmark leads the team in assists (26) and points (36).
