Healy was tight with former executive director Paul Kelly, who was fired Monday morning during PA executive board meetings.
Healy also served as a non-voting member on the NHL Competition Committee, overseeing the NHLPA’s interests regarding rule and equipment issues and player safety matters.

During the last player meetings in Las Vegas the board appointed four executive members and two advisory members to do a thorough office review on Kelly to determine if he is still the right man to lead the union.
