Jackets pick Gratton off TB waivers
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Blue Jackets claimed centre Chris Gratton off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday.

The Blue Jackets, who have collected points in their last seven games, also placed defenceman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen on injured reserve and recalled defenceman Aaron Rome from their AHL affiliate in Syracuse.

Legace clears waivers, off to minors
ST. LOUIS — St. Louis Blues goaltender Manny Legace cleared waivers on Saturday and will be sent to the team’s minor-league affiliate in Peoria.

The Blues had placed the 36-year-old on waivers on Friday.

An all-star for St. Louis last season, Legace has struggled this season, going 13-9-2 with a 3.12 goals-against average and .885 save percentage. He was replaced as the Blues’ top goalie by Chris Mason.

Sanford became expendable when Vancouver traded for Jason Labarbera, who will now become Roberto Luongo’s backup.

VANCOUVER — The Vancouver Canucks assigned defenceman Nolan Baumgartner to Manitoba of the AHL and lost defenceman Nathan McIver on waivers to the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday.
